Dept. 11 is a recruiting and consulting company for the digital and general advertising communities. Large or small, we've been there and want to help you. Dept. 11 is co-owned by well-connected, uniquely talented women: Kerri Schoonyoung and Cyndi McVicker Lambert.

Kerri Schoonyoung
Kerri offers more than 12 years of experience from the strategic and production management specialties from such shops as Tribal DDB, Y&R, FCB and Whittman Hart. She has mastered the delicate balance of sensing where/when freelancers and full-time staff fit best, and brings a wealth of digital experience to the table, not to mention a cool head when handling complex projects. Well, we did mention it, and we mean it. She knows what’s what.
Cyndi McVicker Lambert
Cyndi arrives from the general agency side. She has enjoyed more than a decade of successful in-house and off-site recruiting at some of Chicago's major agencies like Razorfish, FCB and JWT. What makes her different than, say, Joe the Headhunter? Her unwavering passion for the creative process and its people. She pays attention to all levels of hiring, and keeps her ears and eyes open, even on weekends. She goes from the gut, uses her head and heart and always has her candidates’ interests in mind. She’s the kind of person who regularly places more importance on the right partnership than a quick fill.

Naturally, we’ll see from your site that you have skills. Again, for us, the right fit with an agency goes beyond creative compatibility. For example, what do you like to do on your days off? What kind of office do you plan to be in within five years? What kind of books or magazines do you read? The more we understand what has helped you to become and stay in a different world than an accountant (not that there’s anything wrong with accountants), the better discussions we can have with potential employers about your work, and more importantly, about you outside of work.
